Designing Sacred Space

Full Moon

  • Thursday, March 14th in Virgo, Total Lunar Eclpise

  • Virgo Themes = Earth element, perfection, analytical, mutable sign (adaptable), be of service to others, symbolized by the virgin

  • A Full Moon is the apex of the Moon Cycle and is the perfect time to release stagnant energies. The Full Moon represents the exhalation as the moon will now shift into its waning stage. Take time to focus on your growth from the New Moon in the same zodiac sign six months prior. Give yourself space to identify what is no longer serving you in a positive way so you can actively release it. Use the light of the Full Moon to illuminate your dreams and desires. Think about what you are doing to work towards them?

  • Full Moon Rituals:

    • Bathe in the moonlight by going outside and allowing it to soak into your skin

    • Take a hot bath with Epsom Salt using moon water from the last Moon phase with some essential oils like Lavender, Frankincense, Rose or Geranium.

    • Charge water or crystals under the moonlight and use them in your meditations, Oracle readings, or carry them with you.

    • The Full Moon is a time to release. Try a fire ceremony writing down things you'd like to release and burn them.

    • Sing, dance, or do a Moon Yoga Flow outside under the moonlight to release stagnant energy in the body.

    • Likewise, clear out stagnant energy in your home, by lighting sage or palo santo and allow the smoke to clear out old energy. Open windows after to allow new energy in.

    • Focus on what has shown up for you in support of your dreams through journaling or meditation.

Eclipse Season:

  • Eclipse Season - Spring: Eclipse seasons occur roughly every six months, with spring eclipses typically happening between March and May. This creates a powerful window of transformation, as the normal flow of solar and lunar energies is interrupted.

  • Spring eclipses work together as cosmic doorways, with the lunar eclipse helping us release what's complete, while the solar eclipse ushers in new possibilities aligned with the season's energy of rebirth and renewal.

  • Spring eclipse seasons often theme around:

    • Growth and renewal

    • Taking action on long-held dreams

    • Clearing obstacles for new pathways

    • Accelerated personal development

    • Unexpected opportunities and changes

Total Lunar Eclipse:

  • A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the Sun and Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon's surface. The Earth's atmosphere bends red light onto the Moon, creating the striking "Blood Moon" appearance. This celestial event symbolizes completion, emotional release, and profound transformation. It's often seen as a powerful time for letting go, setting intentions, and deep inner work. During this time, the Moon's intuitive and emotional energies are amplified.

  • Occurs only during a Full Moon

  • Often corresponds with major life changes and revelations

  • Excellent time for meditation, journaling, and release rituals

  • Effects can be felt about 2 weeks before and after

Initiation Invitation

  • Choose one of the Energetic Hygiene Rituals and practice it during your week. In your journal record how the practice made you feel? Could you connect to the release of any energy that wasn’t yours? How would you incorporate this into a class or offering?

  • What are you releasing during the upcoming Full Moon? How can you create a personal ritual around it?

Recording

  • Monday, March 10th

Energetic Hygiene

  • Opening Sacred Space

    • Check the energy of the space you are in and ask permission

    • Offer a gift

    • Clear the space if needed: smudge, incense, drum, gong

    • Call in your guides, good-well ancestors, energy team, fill the space with light energy and ground it

    • Set up your personal practitioner protection if sharing space with others

  • Neutral Separation

    • At the close of a session neutrally separate, calling back your own energy and sending anyone else’s energy back to them

Cord cutting

  • This is a practice of releasing karmic or energetic contracts with others and can show up as recurring patterns, encounters, breakups or fallouts.

  • Quick Cord Cutting practice for anytime you find yourself taking on energy that isn’t yours. Repeat to yourself:

    • “I release your energy back to you and take my own energy back for me.” OR “What is mine is mine and what is yours is yours.”

  • Cord Cutting Ritual:

    • Supplies: candle, cord or twine, paper, pencil, smudge stick

    • Light your candle and smudge yourself and your space.

    • Call in your guides and energy team.

    • Tie 2 knots into your cord with space in the middle, one knot representing YOU and the other representing the energy you wish to release (this can be a person, situation, pattern, event, etc).

    • Hold the cord and offer a message to yourself about why you are releasing this energy, person, or situation.

    • You may choose to say this aloud or write it down.

    • Hold the cord at the “YOU” knot over the flame and allow the space between the knots to burn away and all the way through the knot representing what you are releasing.  As it burns, repeat to yourself “I release this energy from my field and offer it back to the Earth where it will be reborn to amplify my work and my life.”

    • If you wrote anything down, burn that now.

    • Place the YOU knot on our altar as a reminder or bury it in the Earth.

    • Repeat this practice as often as needed.
